What does your dream life look like?
Whatever you are pursuing in your life, the ultimate success and happiness are built on four pillars: Physical fitness, Mental toughness, Emotional balance, and Spiritual soundness.
Empowering these four pillars in the morning will help you build the life of your dream.
Remember if you own your morning, you own your day, and if you own the day then eventually you own the life!
A morning routine is the one that can make or break your day. Waking up late, skipping breakfast and rushing to the work in a hurry can put your physiological system in anxiety and stress mode throughout the day which ultimately has a negative impact on health and energy. And poor health and low energy can never lead to a happy and satisfied life.
So having a good morning routine is a must for an empowered life.
Try these morning rituals every day, for the next 30 days, and see how miraculously it boosts your energy, health, happiness, and productivity.
1) Practice Gratitude- Every morning it is like we are born again. Remember many people went to bed last night and did not wake up. So as soon as you open your eyes in the morning be grateful for the gift of a beautiful day. "When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living"-Tecumseh.
2) Rub your hands and place your warm hands on your eyes before you get up.
According to yoga and traditional Chinese medicine every part of the body is connected to a point in our hand. By pressing or massaging these trigger points, we can stimulate our internal organs and increase 'Qi'flow to those organs.
3) Make your bed-Believe me or not having a habit of making your bed in the morning has many benefits. How? Psychology is critical when it comes to pursuing anything in your life including weight loss or improving your health. One very crucial psychological trait is self-discipline. Having a habit of making your bed in the morning puts in you in that discipline mode right at the start of the day!
4) Drink a glass of water as soon as you get up- your body is dehydrated in the morning as it did not get any water for last 8-9 hrs. Drinking water as soon as you wake up hydrates your body. Proper hydration is critical for energy and metabolism.
5) Take a cold shower- Cold shower is very stimulating, refreshing and energizing. Cold increases blood flow to the internal organs. It has numerous health advantages. It also tests your mental toughness, your readiness to go out of your comfort zone! However, if you have any respiratory or sinus problem, uncontrolled hypertension or if you are sick then you should avoid cold showers. Also, women during their menstrual cycles and pregnancy should not take a very cold shower.
6) Stretch or do yoga and take a brisk walk- This works your muscles, tendons, and ligaments and makes them more flexible during the day. If the weather is nice, then go outside for a brisk walk or a jog. Nature is the best energizer and healer!
7) Do deep breathing exercise - Sit in a comfortable posture. Focus on your breathing and take deep breaths. Even 2-3 minutes of deep breathing will make you feel very calm and relaxed. Ideally, this should be done prior to meditation as it primes the brain for better focus.
8) Meditate- Meditation has immense health benefits. It increases your sense of well-being. It helps to relieve stress. Even 10-15 minutes of meditation in the morning will increase your efficiency and productivity during the day.
9) Eat healthy breakfast- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Our body is like an engine, and if we don't put clean fuel in it in the morning, then it may not function efficiently during the day. Have some fresh veggie or fruit juice or smoothies in the morning along with the breakfast.
10) Do some journaling-Morning is the best time where your brain is receptive to creative ideas. So having a habit of journaling your thoughts in the morning boosts up your creativity and intuitiveness.
